Boats of the Ballard Locks
Boats of the Ballard Locks depicts a series of recreational boats moving through the locks between the saltwater Puget Sound and freshwater Lake Union. Repetition of image speaks to the rhythm and quantity of traffic moving through the ship elevator. Created as commentary on the human adaptive behavior to invent complex systems, altering an entire landscape for recreational use. "Water flows in the direction of money."
