Cowpox

The cow is perceived to have value only as a healthy animal. Often whole herds are slaughtered at the onset of a virulent disease. The defining characteristic of this cow is the evidence of disease, the animal itself becoming ghost-like with no identifying character or personality. What does it mean to live with a diseased body, and how does society see the value you may possess?
